Every result so far this season for the seven schools in East Forsyth's region, updated through Friday, Oct. 16. Region play opened Oct. 2, so the standings are now sorted by region record first, then overall record, then point differential.

The Dawson County final was 37–24. That is the score on the GHSA's own scoreboard — the governing body's record, filed by the schools — so that is what this site carries. Some wire roundups and MaxPreps still show 37–3; those went out around midnight, during the third weather delay, before the game had finished, and were never corrected.
A dash instead of a record means the opponent is not a GHSA member school — Westside (Anderson, S.C.), Riverside Military and The King's Academy. The GHSA keeps no record for them, so neither do we.
Overall record is not the GHSA's playoff record. The GHSA's postseason rankings count only games against member schools. Every team below matches on both counts except Jefferson, 6–2 overall but 5–2 in the GHSA's book — its win over Westside (Anderson, S.C.) does not count toward seeding.
One thing to know about Johnson. MaxPreps lists Johnson (Gainesville) in Region 8-5A, but its published schedule has no region opponents on it — the other six schools play a clean five-game round robin. Treat the region race as a six-team race until GHSA says otherwise. Because it never plays one, Johnson's region record stays 0–0 all season. A 0–0 counts as neutral, so Johnson sits above every school with a losing region record and below every school with a winning one — from Week 9 that puts it above Flowery Branch, which has a region win but is 1–2.
North Oconee and Jefferson are both 3–0. Of the six schools that play region games, only the Titans and the Dragons are still unbeaten in them, and the two meet at Jefferson on Oct. 30. North Oconee has now scored 145 points and conceded 13 across its three region games. Jefferson’s shutout streak reached five: CJ Hays opened with a 65-yard run and scored again from 17 yards, Austen Kitchings pushed it to 21–0 before the end of the first quarter, and Chrystian Little broke free for 65 yards (AccessNorthGA). East Forsyth, Winder-Barrow and Johnson were all open, so the Broncos stay 5–2 and 1–1 and host North Oconee on Oct. 23 off two weeks’ rest.
Where these came from. The GHSA scoreboard carries North Oconee 31–6 on both schools’ lines and has advanced both season records to match. It has not posted Jefferson–Madison County yet, as it had not posted parts of Weeks 7 and 8 the morning after; that result went in on AccessNorthGA’s datelined game story and its FGN Week 9 scoreboard, on High School On SI, on Blitz Sports, and in GPB’s current top ten, which already prints Jefferson at 6–2.
Opponent records lag by design. The GHSA had not finished posting Week 9 when this page was built, so several non-region opponents are still shown at the record the association has for them — Lumpkin County, Hart County, Franklin County, Stockbridge, Cass, Gilmer, Seckinger, St. Pius X and Morgan County all played on Oct. 16 and none of those games is on the scoreboard yet. They advance on the next refresh rather than ahead of the record.
Johnson’s Oct. 9 game is still not on this page. Johnson (Gainesville) was at Dominion Christian, which is not a GHSA member school, and a week later the association still has no score on the line. No statewide round-up carries one either. Johnson’s record stays 1–5.
North Oconee and Jefferson are 2–0. The Titans and the Dragons are the only unbeaten sides left in region play. East Forsyth and Flowery Branch are 1–1, Winder-Barrow and Madison County 0–2. Jefferson has now shut out four opponents in a row — the first time the program has done that inside one season — and held East Forsyth to 71 yards of offense at Memorial Stadium (AccessNorthGA). East Forsyth is open on Oct. 16 and next plays at home against North Oconee on Oct. 23.
Where these came from. The GHSA scoreboard now carries all three on both schools’ lines — North Oconee 59–7, Jefferson 35–0 and Flowery Branch 35–32 — and has advanced every season record to match. It had posted only the first of the three the morning after, as it had posted only two of the Week 7 games; those two went up on AccessNorthGA’s Week 8 scoreboard and its two datelined game stories, on High School On SI, on Blitz Sports and on both schools’ GPB pages, and the association has since agreed with all of them. Opponent records follow the GHSA scoreboard, which has now finished posting Week 8.
Johnson’s game is not on this page. Johnson (Gainesville) was at Dominion Christian, which is not a GHSA member school. The GHSA scoreboard has no score on the line, the statewide round-ups do not carry one, and the only figure published anywhere is a 1–0 — a forfeit notation, not a football score. Nothing here is confirmed, so nothing is shown, and Johnson’s record stays 1–5.
The region opened with three games. East Forsyth, North Oconee and Jefferson all won and are 1–0; Flowery Branch, Madison County and Winder-Barrow are 0–1. Johnson, which has no region opponents on its schedule, lost at home to Towns County and stays 0–0 in the region all season.
Where these came from. The GHSA scoreboard carries East Forsyth 35–26 and North Oconee 55–0 on both schools’ lines. It now carries Jefferson–Flowery Branch and Johnson–Towns County too, which it had not posted the morning after; both are also carried by High School On SI, Blitz Sports and AccessNorthGA. Opponent records follow the GHSA scoreboard.
The only Region 8 game of the week. Johnson played at Cross Keys on Thursday; East Forsyth, North Oconee, Jefferson, Winder-Barrow, Flowery Branch and Madison County were all open on Friday, Sept. 25. Region play opened the following week.
Johnson's first win in 27 games. That is the streak as The Gainesville Times Subscription put it. The 37–6 score is carried by GPB, by the Cross Keys page and by Blitz Sports' Week 6 round-up. The GHSA scoreboard now carries it too, dated Sept. 25.
The Broncos' game was played under a shadow. Friday was the day Brian Allison died at 60, after a battle with cancer — East Forsyth's first head coach, who led the program from its 2021 inception, and Lumpkin County's defensive coordinator this season. Reported by the Forsyth County News Subscription and corroborated by the AJC.
Johnson (Gainesville) had played four games to the other six schools' five at this point, having been idle in Week 4; it has since caught up.
Johnson (Gainesville) was idle in Week 4 and has played three games to the others' four.
East Forsyth is 1–0 in the region after winning 35–26 at Madison County. Next is Friday, Oct. 9 at Jefferson (4–2, 1–0 region), the second of five region games that decide the playoff seeding. The full region schedule has every date and kickoff time.
